Urban Architecture LLC - Architectural Designer

Professional Experience

Kathryn received her license in architecture in 2019, yet she has 10 years of experience in ground-up construction for high-rise residential/mixed use buildings. She is responsible for technical coordination with the Urban Architecture design team, Mr. Weiss and with consultants and subcontractors, to expedite the company’s design-build fast-track process. She has and continues to work on various project classifications including high-rise residential and mixed-use development. Kathryn also works as a code and zoning consultant on large scale development projects in New York City. Her knowledge of the latest editions of Building Codes and building construction is a great asset in getting projects approved and constructed in a timely and efficient manner.

Kathryn is active in her community at local and national levels. In 2019 she launched the Torch Mentorship Program connecting emerging professionals with Urban’s leaders, and hosts numerous volunteer service events with the AIA committee she chairs, including FutureNow, focused on reimagining practice through data disruption, and has launched a scholarship program for AIA licensure candidates. In 2018 The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation selected Kathryn to join their new Emerging Leaders program with other top women leaders in the architecture, engineering and construction fields, to discuss and frame solutions and create legislation.

Kathryn is a certified instructor for the Architect Licensing Advisors Community, teaching several classes including guest lecturing at Cornell University.
